Artist bio:

I’m Ella Etienne, a 25 year old artist from Carshalton in South London. I studied Fine Art at City & Guilds of London Art School, graduating in 2022 with a BA (Hons) and winning the Board of Trustees Prize. Since then, I’ve exhibited in group shows across London and continued to develop a practice rooted in light, symbolism, and the uncanny.

My paintings circle around spirituality and the fleeting intensity of moments that feel charged with meaning. Orbs often appear — sometimes as light, sometimes as presence — hovering between clarity and mystery. Foxes, too, are central. In myth they are guides, tricksters, shapeshifters, and for me they carry a pull I can’t fully explain, a presence I return to again and again.

I paint like I’m composing music — building rhythm, harmony, and pauses on the canvas — trying to capture the pulse of something just out of reach.
